Days 1–2: Drive from Moshi or Arusha to the trailhead (Machame Gate, Londorossi, etc.). Begin inrainforest biome, walking 4–6 hours daily, gaining altitude gradually and resting in camp orhuts.
Days 3–4:Transition through moorland and rocky alpine desert zones. Expect stunning vistas, coldnights, and a strong feeling of being “on the mountain.” Camps are basic but warm.
Summit Attempt Night: Wake between midnight and 1 AM and hike through darkness, reaching Uhuru Peak atdawn. You’ll witness sunrise from the highest point in Africa—a profoundly emotionalmoment.
